Buying localy

Essential Question
As our city expands and develops for future growth, how can we protect and preserve our surrounding natural habitats and resources?
With our county expanding and developing, what is one way we can protect and preserve our local environment? One very easy way to do this that also helps our economy, is buying locally. If we buy locally we can put more money back into our local economy so our county can keep protecting and preserving our surrounding natural habitats and resources.
Tips for going green:
· Do not buy most of your food at big corporate chains or fast food dealers.
· A few types of places to buy good local foods are the following:
o CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
o Farmers Markets
§ Signal Hills Farmers Market located in West St. Paul, MN
§ Seventh Place Mall Farmers Market located in St. Paul, MN
o Farm Stands
§ Rich Valley farms located in Inver Grove Heights, MN
o Food buying clubs
o Local Supermarkets
o Local Restaurants
